SpellSynth Privacy Policy

SpellSynth ("the app") is developed by nono.audio ("we", "us"). This policy describes what data the app handles. The short version: we don't collect any.

Nothing. SpellSynth does not collect, store on any server, transmit, or share any personal data. There is no account system. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no advertising SDK, no tracking of any kind.

• Settings. Your voice character, voice language, SEQ pattern and tempo, which tips and What's New notes you have seen, and a count of how often the app has been opened (used only to time the rating prompt described below). These are stored locally with Apple's standard user-defaults storage. They never leave your device and are deleted if you delete the app.
• Words added in earlier versions. Older versions let you add your own words. Adding words is no longer possible, but any words you added before stay on your device and can still come up in Say It. They are deleted if you delete the app.
• Speech for words outside the library. Words that aren't in the bundled voice library are spoken with Apple's built-in speech synthesiser (AVSpeechSynthesizer). This runs on the device; no audio or text is uploaded, and nothing is recorded.
• Audio Unit. When SpellSynth is loaded as an AUv3 instrument inside a host app (GarageBand, Logic, AUM, etc.), it receives MIDI from the host and renders audio back to the host. It keeps rendered voice samples in a cache on your device and saves any presets you create on your device. No data leaves the device.

When you tap SHARE, the app renders the current word or phrase to a WAV file in temporary storage on your device and opens the standard iOS Share Sheet. The file only goes where you choose to send it.

The app does not send or receive any data of its own. It works fully offline after installation. Only these actions open something outside the app, and only when you tap them:

• The RATE SPELLSYNTH button opens the App Store's review page for SpellSynth.
• Links in the What's New note open the App Store's review page or your email app.
• VIEW LIST in the Audio Unit opens the SpellSynth word library web page in your browser.

From time to time Apple may show its standard "rate this app" prompt. Apple shows and handles that prompt; we receive nothing from it.

The app does not request microphone, camera, location, contacts, photos, notifications, or any other system permissions.

SpellSynth is rated 4+ on the App Store and is designed to be safe for children. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, of any age, it collects none from children, including children under 13.

None. The app does not integrate any third-party SDKs; it uses only Apple's own frameworks.

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will appear at this URL with a new "last updated" date.
