A narrow AM band that will not sit still: the tuning drifts, a heterodyne whistle wanders with it, a slow tremolo breathes, and static rushes into the quiet spots. Mono core. The most alive of the five devices: nothing here holds still.
- Amount
- Narrows the band (about 180 Hz to 4.5 kHz, narrowing to 320 Hz to 2.8 kHz), speeds and deepens the tremolo (0.5 to 6 Hz, up to ~45% depth), widens the ±6% tuning drift, and coarsens the grit from 9-bit toward 6-bit.
- Tone
- Scales the top cutoff by ×0.7 to ×1.3, from pillow radio to tabletop set.
- Noise
- Static, hum and crackle, plus the tuning whistle. The static ducks against your signal: it floods the gaps, not the notes.
- Dropouts
- The station fades out under a burst of boosted static.
